Tween Service Project

These pictures were taken by Kaylea, too, and posted on the church Facebook page where I stole them shamelessly.  Blake went with Gabi & the Tweens to serve the homeless.  Another pastor from church also went with his daughter and brought his guitar so the kids could sing carols to the guests they served. Gabi had limited use of her casted arm and couldn't get it wet or dirty, so she wasn't serving on the food line. Instead, she handed out bagged lunches for the next day and offered them Bibles. 

Gabi LOVED this service project and wants to go back really soon; our church serves at Under the Bridge twice a month.

Gabi just keeps on Weaving

First it was pot holders on a loom, then t-shirt rugs on a hula hoop, and now it's weaving scarves on her fingers.

Gabi's been saving money from birthday, allowance, and her job getting the neighbor's paper while they were on vacation-- and she invested some of it on this:



It's a costume for a character from the Harry Potter books, Hermione. She plans to wear it to the movie (sans the hat!), to a HP party at the library next week, for Halloween, and just, you know, when she wants to feel magical.

Happy Camper

I dropped Gabz at camp this morning, and she is in the same cabin as last year and was delighted to be there.

I helped her make her bed before she kicked me & Micah out of the cabin.


Micah is planning all kinds of adventure & mischief while she's gone. Already we've made a trip to the library, gotten ice cream, and we're watching a Lego movie. Micah wants to swim before karate tonight, too, "because I really swim now, Mom!"

Dancers!

Here are some random pictures of two different girls (Gabi & Jessie) dancing in two different recitals which happen in the last week or so! Both did a great job. Unfortunately its hard to take pictures of people moving quickly on a stage under strange lighting... but I hope you enjoy!
