Summer Arts Camp

Both kids have been going to arts classes this week. Both took Chinese brush painting:

Micah took music class where he played instruments, matched in a parade & sang silly songs. Gabi took two writing classes- song writing & creative writing (see previous post for her poem.)

VBS

We had VBS at our church this week and I have shamelessly stolen most of these pictures off the church's facebook page. A few I took as i helped w/ micah's first grade group. Both the kids missed part of the fun due to being sick, but loved the time they were there.


The church where the kids go to school didn't have their own VBS this year and suggested parents bring their kids to ours, so several of the kids' school friends came as well.

Happy Camper

I dropped Gabz at camp this morning, and she is in the same cabin as last year and was delighted to be there.

I helped her make her bed before she kicked me & Micah out of the cabin.


Micah is planning all kinds of adventure & mischief while she's gone. Already we've made a trip to the library, gotten ice cream, and we're watching a Lego movie. Micah wants to swim before karate tonight, too, "because I really swim now, Mom!"

The Playground Trail

Our new neighborhood has a cool trail. At one end is a playground:


















Then you follow the trail back...






Admiring people's bridges and backyards as you go.... Micah liked this one a lot:
