I'm Not Playing Favorites!

I felt the need to explain why Micah had one of those cute year in pictures photo montages, but Gabi doesn't. The site I've been using isn't working. I've tried for weeks. I don't know why it won't cooperate. Sorry! If I can figure it out, I promise to make her one with some snazzy ballet music.

Diva Day

This morning we decided to go see our town's newest retail offering, a Belk's. Little did we know that we were showing up right in time for "Diva Day"- when girls age 2-12 are given mini-makeovers (lipgloss & blush!), feather boas, and free portraits. They only took the first 50 girls, but we were close to the front of the line. And here is our Diva~
What you can't see in the pic is that she was wearing her pink cowgirl boots; they really set off the ensemble.

In this last shot, Micah was copying how I take a photo... one eye closed and lean in close to the camera. Except he leaned in to the wrong side of the camera and I got the shot of him peering into the lense.

It's Incredible! Gabi is 5!

Well, she turns 5 officially tomorrow, but we celebrated with her preschool buddies today. We had an "Incredibles" themed party at the Library. Her friends came after school and made superhero masks; ate cake decorated with Violet; played Stick the Mask on Violet; played Violet, Violet, Dash (which is a lot like duck, duck, goose- ha ha); and generally had a good time. Gabi drew pictures of all the Incredibles for decorations.

Super Sister Style

Have you ever seen the show Hi-5? We finally figured out that show must have been what developed Gabi's fashion sense. Look here to see the show's website. Gabi decided that they should rename the show Hi-6 and let her join the cast, so she dressed for the part. She is also dressed as an action hero, ergo the cape. But she did some super deeds that day like pushing her brother in his car, letting him push her, and sweeping the porch.

Forsythia

I tried to get a picture of Micah in front of beautifully blooming forsythia bush. He ran, growled, and said he wanted to go "over dere" but I did get a nice pic of the bush!

Aw, what a sweet boy.

Gabi wanted to have a lemonade stand, but decided to have a juice stand instead b/c the TV said "juicy juice is the very best juice for the very best kids." and she is one of the very best kids, you know. And she decided to give the juice away b/c she didn't want people to have to spend their money. She had 5 costumers. Six if you count Micah. She made the signs herself; they are pictures of juice bottles.

Gabi asked me to put her in rocket with the Little Einsteins for her birthday. She is having a Little Einsteins party with extended family in a few weeks. And she is having an Incredibles party with her preschool buddies. Today we got all the invites out!
