We went to the pirate playground today...

Daddy's Little Helper

We had some limbs fall in the storms last weekend, and Micah helped Dad drag them away. This was actually a pretty big, heavy limb for a 20 month old.

Scene: Gabi and Micah in the tub, being supervised by Daddy. Gabi is splashing too much, irritating Micah. Daddy is repeatedly telling her to stop.

Dad: Stop splashing his face, Gabi!
Gabi: (splash splash)
Dad: Gabi! Stop! How many times do I have to tell you?!
Gabi: (matter-of-factly) Seventy-seven.

I finally found an art project that Micah liked... driving trucks through paint!

Class Caterpillar

Gabi's pre-K class went on a nature walk and they found a caterpillar. They watched it in class all day then we returned it to the wilds of our backyard after school. Gabi named it "Sparkle Green" because someday it would be a beautiful, sparkley butterfly. And Micah escaped w/ Sparkle Green's cage after the little guy had been safely returned to the great outdoors.

Our preschool names each class by an animal, and Gabi's class is the butterfly class. So their first week at school they learned all about the life cycle of caterpillars/ butterflies and made these cool butterfly costumes:

First Day @ PreSchool

Gabi started Pre-Kindergarten today and Micah is across the hall in the toddler room at the preschool. Today was his first day of school ever! He'll be going one day a week this year, and Gabi will be going 3 days. She is thrilled b/c they have show & tell every Friday in her new class.

Here are some pics from this morning with their backpacks. Notice Micah can't actually stand up wearing his b/c its too heavy. LOL.
