Santa Hats

I'm thinking of using one of these for a Christmas card photo.

We were treated to a feast with the preK pilgrims at the kids' school today.

Pink is the Way She Rolls

After a week in a red and navy plaid uniform, sometimes a girl just needs to get the pink thing going on. Gabi wore this ensemble out for our girls only shopping and lunch day. We found a Christmas dress and new shoes. And she got stopped by at least three young women to tell her they like her style, including the salesgirl at her favorite store- Justice.

Dear Santa

Tis the season for making lists and writing letters to Santa! The kids worked on theirs this weekend. This is the first time Micah has written his own (or part of it!) and you can see Gabi wrote in her fanciest script.

Gabi tells Santa that she loved the Barbie boat she got last year, but would really like a Barbie Dream House. Gabi doesn't really believe in Santa, she is just working the Christmas system. See, I really don't want a huge Barbie dream house in my house. But do I have a choice now? She does really play with her barbies, though, so I think she will at least get a lot of play out of it.

I started to write Micah's for him with him dictating, but he asked for the pen and said, "How do you spell 'I want Legos?' " He wanted me to add the clarification that he wants Space Police and Indiana Jones Legos, and not just some of them, but all of them. (Yeah, right!) Oh, and don't forget his Nutter Butter cookies! He always asks Santa for a sweet treat.

Future Mad Scientist

Gabi was home sick from school a couple of days last week, but really the last day she was home she felt fine. Being bored with movies and reading, she pulled out her Icky Sticky Foamy Slimy Ooey Gooey Chemistry set which we bought from a school Scholastic book flyer.
(I love those Scholastic things.)

We had all the ingredients to make Liquid Madness which was a concoction involving corn syrup, water, baking soda, oil, vinegar and some food coloring.

It was fun measuring, mixing colors, and seeing the layers of different liquids and then little bubbles of vinegar... but then when the liquid created tornadoesque funnels of turmoil in a cup: now that was fun.

Look Up!

Sunshine, Sunshine

Hooray for a bright sunshiny day! We went down the street to the park. We took Gabi's bike and she is working on riding sans training wheels- almost there! She is a bit embarrassed to be riding a small Dora bike at age seven so she hasn't put much work into it. Hoping to get a new bike that fits her for Christmas. Then she climbed and swung and slid. Generally a good way to enjoy a sunny day!

Now, Micah. For quite a while I tried hard to avoid him having any type of weapon toy... but I soon realized resistance is futile. Hey David, where's the giant?
