Chuck E Cheese

MiMi & Poppy threw a family birthday get together for Gabi at Chuck E Cheese this weekend. Everyone had fun!!

This is the look of happiness on her face when she opened the pink Razor Scooter from Aunt Pet.
Anytime with cousin Jessie is a fun!

Micah's favorite thing is the tow truck.

Gabi liked the nifty roller coaster simulation.

Steering the pony around the virtual track requires much concentration.

Micah was enjoying driving the space ship game and thought it sounded like a good idea to let Daddy help, but somehow found himself without the joystick. What's happening here?

Ooooo! A WonderPlace pass! What a rocking gift is that?

Watch the click counter...

I realize in the world wide web, this ain't a lot... but my counter is nearing 5,000! (and the blog had a life before the counter started.) So thanks to all of you who come and watch the pics of our kids as they grow and read my ramblings on sharing a parsonage with 2 kids and 2 cats. Who needs a scrapbook when you have blogger?

Go Fly a Kite!

The kids each got a kite in their Easter baskets, and we had a breeze today so we went by Blake's office and he came out on the church lawn to flight test them.

Micah thought they looked pretty neat at first....

but I'm not sure he totally got the concept as he tried to catch the streamers whenever the Spiderman kite got close to the ground.
Gabi definitely got the idea, and she her daddy had Barbie soaring in no time.

Our Easter Celebration

I hope everyone has had a very blessed Easter. Here are a bunch of pictures in no particular order from our busy Easter day with church, visiting grandparents, lunch, egg hunts, and a couple of birthdays thrown in for good measure:

We got a new "Chair-Go-Round" (spinning see-saw) for the backyard-- a big hit!

Easter was Poppy's birthday this year. Happy Birthday Tommy~

Eureka!

Pretend our unmowed lawn is a field of flowers....

The Best Buddies (are they checking for bunny ears?)

If you wear an Easter basket hat, are you an egg head?

Searching for eggs on the church playground:

Found one in the swing!

Micah's Upside Down Painting

Micah brought this painting home from preschool recently. I held it with his name right-side-up and asked him to tell me about it. Without telling me it was upside down, he said "There's the eyes, the happy mouth, the nose..." it took me a minute to figure out the teacher had put his name on it upside down. See the happy face?

The Visa Cats (They're Everywhere You Want to Be)

Mackie "helped" us dye Easter eggs, and didn't want to miss out on being in the egg photo shoot.
Then when I was trying to get a shot of Gabi's certificate, Tipper wouldn't stop lying on top of it.

Do this in remembrance of me...

To keep Gabi occupied during the Maundy Thursday service tonight, I drew this tabletop on a piece of paper... I drew just the trapezoid top, mind you... and I said, "Draw what Jesus would eat." I guess she was listening to the sermon on the last supper and passover as she drew a really nice Last Supper scene. Watch out Leonardo!

By the way--- what would Jesus eat? (WWJE) Green eggs and ham, of course.

Introducing the Student of the Month

Last night we went to the school board meeting where one student from each school was awarded a certificate signed by the superintendent. Gabi's principal and teacher introduced her and talked about what a great student she has been from the first day of school. They said kindergartners aren't often given this award, but she had been nominated because she had made a big effort to be the "Class Buddy" to the new girl in her class, and done a great job at making her feel welcome. This is the picture from the district website which will also run in the local newspaper. We're so proud!

Spring has sprung on St. Patrick's Day

The forsythia bush here at the parsonage is blooming. It even caught the eye of a friend who brought over her little guy- a buddy of Micah's- to take pictures.
Hopefully all of her shots aren't showing some tongue.

This is one of the better pictures I've ever gotten of Micah.

More silliness ensued when Gabi got home from school.
