The Zoo Crew

We took this crew (our 2 kids and my niece) to the zoo on Saturday- beautiful weather and lots of fun. I took a lot of pics witht he little pink camera, and some of these are iPhone pics, too.

Jessie noticed this was an interesting view... seeing the rhino with the cityscape of buildings peeking over the landscape horizon.

Gabi carried a notebook with her and kept a list of every animal she saw.

There is a show at the zoo now called "Winged Wonders" with trained birds. Blame the blurriness of this photo on the fact that bird was flying right at my head.

Name That Dress Up Costume

Can anyone identify what the kids are dressing up as in these pictures? Because I for one have no clue what you get when you mix a pink bathrobe with swords, fireman rainboots, goggles, and assorted helmets, much less what might wear a jedi robe over a statue of liberty dress with a fuzzy argile scarf. Seemed like fun, though.

Family Photo

Check it out- a record-breaking two photos of myself in one post. Micah had "family photo show and tell" on Friday. The most recent picture of all four of us that I could find was from May of 2008, so we took a new one. Gabi also took the pic of me and Micah together. Do we look alike?

"Why do they call these clothes 'unicorns'?"

Quarter Geography

Gramzy has been collecting state quarters for all 3 grandkids and just finished their sets. We hung this one up on the playroom wall. Gabi has always been interested in maps and travels (remember for when she asked Santa for a globe for Christmas?) so she likes to consult her quarter collection when she hears about a state.

Fairy Houses

Gabi went to a craft class at a local toy shop and got to make an adorable fairy house. The toy shop put the slide show of pics on youtube and of course, I took some of my own, too! It was a great class! They started with a simple wooden birdhouse then added cinnamon sticks, dried leaves and petals, shells, rocks, moss, and such to make a comfy fairy home. Meanwhile, Micah made himself at home in the toy store....
