Some wonderful friends came down from Russellville to visit today. We took the four kids to the Museum of Discovery, Flying Fish, the River Market, and for a ride on the trolleys.

Forgive the bad reproduction of the picture here, but Micah drew this at Pre-K. They are studying the five senses this week and that included an outdoor game of I-spy to learn about seeing and then they came inside a drew what they saw. Here you see the sun, the grass, and, to the left of the picture, a mushroom and flower. The big box shape in the background is the school air conditioner. All cute, right? Now- the best part--- the guy in the middle is Micah's best buddy Benjamin. Now, note the squiggly lines over his head. That is Benjamin dreaming of playing Star Wars with Micah. He drew the squiggly lines because they move so fast when they play Star Wars that all you can see is the blur of movement. It's a Jedi thing.
Now that we have ventured into the world on private school, we are experiencing the kids learning religion in school. Being that they go to a Catholic school, we sometimes get to talk about some differences in how we worship as Methodists compared to her classmates who are mostly RC. Second grade is the year they have first communion so they are really emphasizing the religion this year in preparation for that in the spring. As UMC, Gabi has been taking Communion at our open table for years. Last week Gabi had a test on the sacraments, and I am willing to wager she is the first kid in the class to draw a picture of her daddy giving herself and her little brother Communion in response to this question.

Ahhhh! ZOMBIES!!!
