Robin Watch 2006

A robin has nested in the hanging basket of pretty flowers that I got as a Mother's Day gift. There are two beautiful little eggs in it as of this morning. Watch for updates to follow.

Momma bird has been busy! Sometime Friday or Saturday morning, she laid another pretty little egg:















Update (Fri, June 2): It's been a week, and the three eggs are still there and being tended by momma bird. This evening I noticed her standing on the side of the nest looking down at them, so I'm wondering if they are hatching or close to it. Can't wait to check tomorrow. Hope they hatch before Gabi leaves for swim lessons.

Well, she is still four: Gabi's dress-up party revisited

OK, OK, it was more than 2 months ago! I know! But, my talented SIL & family photog Kimber took these cute shots at the party and since I just got 'em, I had to share! Here are a few highlights of birthday brownies, the rousing game of "princess, princess, fairy" (which looks a lot like "duck duck goose" if you're wondering!), dress-up fun, crown-crafting, and the coolest cousin in the whole world!

When you wish upon a star....

Turns out Gabi was meant to be the star of a show afterall... a starfish! Gabi's first dance recital was today and she and her friends were just charming as little starfish fairies in "The Mermaid Chair." (The whole recital had a under the sea theme.)


Apparently, she was also quite the disco diva and she really jived in the Staying Alive finale.
I missed it as Micah thought once he'd seen his sister on stage, none of the rest of the dancers were worth watching and we went home early- LOL.

Many thanks to Grams for not only bringing her camera, but using it to take pictures. (Mine sat in the camera bag the whole show.)

Gabi: I think when Daddy grows up he should get a big camera and make movies. Because he knows all about movies and could be a good movie-maker.

Mom: So, Daddy would be the director and make movies?

Gabi: Yep.

Mom: And would you be the star?

We decided to spend a good part of the day outside today. After a playdate w/ the Moms Group this morning, we spent the post-nap afternoon experimenting with our new sidewalk paint, playing cars, and digging in the sand table.
