Lego His Legos

Way back at Christmas, I used a whole post to show you Gabi's dollhouse. I understand dollhouses, and could easily expound on the awesomeness of the Barbie's new residence. Micah's big gift was Legos- and I took all these pictures of the things he and his daddy built, but I wasn't sure what to say about them -- not even sure I can tell you what they all are. But they are made of Legos and Micah loves them.

Mardi Gras on our Circle

If one parade is fun, two parades are better! When we got home from school and had masks, and streamers, and a decorated wagon, the logical thing to do was to start belting out "Oh When the Saints" and march around the circle. The neighbors came out to watch our little Mardi Gras parade around our circle and they said it made their Fat Tuesday. Then we went inside and ate King Cake. After all, if some sugar is good, more is better. Happy Mardi Gras!

(Don't ask me why there is a light saber in the mardi gras parade- the only answer I have for you is that it's because Micah was in the parade, and the two things just sort of go together.)

Mardi Gras at School
Put Us in the Zoo

After being cooped up by the ice and snow and freezing temps for too long, we were all needing to get out for some fresh air. When Saturday brought us sun we wanted to venture out, but the great melt was making great mud of all the playgrounds. So, we took advantage of the zoo membership Aunt Pet gave us for Christmas and took off for some cold but sunny fun on some nicely paved paths. Nobody else was at the zoo-- it was a great time to go! And look, the spider monkeys made a snowman!
More Snow
More Wonder Place Birthday

A recap of the fifth birthday party fun. Notice Gabi had a friend there, too-- her little brother is also in Micah's class and she and Gabs are best buds so we invited the whole fam. They are playing vet in this picture. My favorite is the pic of Micah and his friend Nate in costume-- they were teaming up to defeat the fire-breathing dragons.

Mo Willems
Gabi drew this to send to one of our favorite childrens book authors, Mo Willems. Micah is a

huge Mo fan and often asks Gabi to read him the stories about the Pigeon. If you are familiar with the books, you might notice that several different stories are included in this drawing.

Grandparents Day Guest Bloggers
The kids' school had a friends and family day and invited grandparents to come to school. They split up and Gramzy & Papa Jack went to Gabi's room, while MiMi & Poppy went to Micah's pre-K room. PaPa took pictures and Mimi wrote me an e-mail about her day, and I decided to declare PaPa and Mimi the 2Kids3Kats guest bloggers for the day, so here you go:

We had a wonderful time at Micah's luncheon. He was the perfect host. He was standing at the door when we arrived and announced that we were his Mimi and Poppy. Then he proceeded to take us around to every nook and cranny to show us what they did there. We know where he sits to read, where he puts his cot, where they play, where they have art, where he puts his lunch box, where the birthday listing is, where he sits at the round table, oh so many things. He introduced us to many of his classmates and of course his teacher. I read him a very cute book he picked out. We had our picture taken with him. We played hide and seek a couple of times and then we went to the lunch room and had a very good hamburger (surprise), delicious french fries and (Micah said) good large chocolate chip cookies. He ought to know because he ate his (I picked up one for him in the lunch line) and mine. Then went back to his classroom and his teacher started reading a book and they were going to have a movie afterwards.

Wonder-ful Fifth Birthday Party
M
icah had seven buddies come play with him at the Wonder Place after school to celebrate his fifth birthday. It was a nice, low-key, quiet afternoon at the indoor play spot, and everyone had a good time and enjoyed chocolate pirate cupcakes. These are the pics from Blake's iPhone... I'll upload mine soon!
