"straight checkmarks"
...just doesn't have the same ring to it as "straight A's." But- Gabi's end of year Kindergarten report card had just that- straight check marks and she made it through the WHOLE year of kindergarten without having to move her clothespin (the class discipline system involved moving clothespins form happy faces to sad faces.) WOW! She's reading, 'riting, and doing some 'rithmatic, too. What a great year of kindergarten! Can't wait to see what FIRST GRADE will hold for the class of 2020.

How does your garden grow?
Two Big Kids
Since we have 2 big kids now, we also have 2 big kid swings. We took down the plastic bucket baby swing and Blake (a.k.a. Handy Daddy) hung this nifty swing from the tree.

We of course still have the disc swing, too. It's fun to pretend you're swinging from a vine like Diego does. Micah is a little more timid than Gabi on this swing, but most people would be.
She's a thrill seeker.

This pic has nothing to do with the swings... I just caught Micah laughing while he tried to run away from the camera, and I thought it was cute and the motion lines were cool.

Micah really likes to fly with his belly in the swing... to be a "Soooopa Hewo!"

Summer Haircut

Gabi got 7 inches off her hair. We'd been waiting on the recital and wedding to be over, but Gabi was so happy. She said she thinks she lost 20 pounds in hair. The hairdresser thought her hair was so healthy and pretty that she sent the 7 inches into Locks of Love even though they usually ask for at least 10, apparently. Maybe they can use it! I was a little worried that Micah would freak... you all know how he is about hair. He still doesn't like my haircut, but apparently he's OK with Gabi's summer 'do. She says her new hair do is "good hat hair" and is lobbying me to buy her summer hats. She even wore a hat to school today.
