Word of the Day: Antident

I haven't posted about any of Micah's created words lately, but today he asked me if I'd ever had an antident. I had to request a translation of the word "antident" from Micahese to English and this is the official Micah definition: "An antident is when a nice ant, not a fire ant, bites you and then he says he's sorry, becuase he didn't mean to, because he's a nice ant. It was an accident. That's an antident." Well, of course. What else could an antident be?

First Grade Awards

Gabi had her first grade assembly this morning and Blake caught these pics on his iPhone-- she was one of 3 kids in her class to get an award for having a proficient report card all year, and she got the Helping Hands award for always being helpful. We're so proud! Next time you see pictures of Gabi at school she'll be sporting a spiffy plaid uniform. ;)

Micah's Thrill: Blueberries

Our moms group went to pick blueberries this morning and had a great time! Micah and I got a gallon bucket full plus he ate as many as he could! That kid loves blueberries!

Puppet Show

Gabi was in the big first grade puppet show today. Grandparents made it to the matinee performance, including Gramzy who helped Gabi sew her puppet's costume. Gabi was Little Red Riding Hood. The evening show we got an added bonus when Gabi got to also fill in for the Queen in the Henny Penny act of the puppet show. Video to follow- but it was a terrific show!

Bunnies in the Backyard

We have bunnies living in the backyard. See the one hiding in the garden pic below?

Speaking of the garden, it's being overrun with oregano and Gabi says our yard smells like pizza and spaghetti. Anybody want an oregano plant? See- they are pretty!

Soccer See-Saw

Micah has been spending every dry afternoon (and a few muddy afternoons) in the yard playing soccer. He's really into it. We may try to find him a beginners team to play on when we get moved.

He's also figured out something else: a see-saw can be more than just a see-saw.

It can be a catapult.

He's quite proud of this discovery. Who knows how long it will be til he's catapulting more than soccer balls.
