What Time Is It? PARTY TIME!

Gabi will be having a High School Musical party next weekend. If you are a reader who knows where Gramzy & PaPa Jack live, then you are more than welcome to join us! We'll have finger foods, sing karaoke, and maybe shoot some hoops. We probably won't try to do any elaborate basketball dance moves, though, so don't be scared. Hope to see lots of family there!

What does this say about me?

I had Gabi's parent teacher conference tonight. All was fine- she does great at school. We were going over her math standards tests and all year she's only missed one question..... it asked her to estimate which item from the multiple choice list was about the same size as a door. the correct answer was ironing board, but she picked snowball. I instantly knew the problem, and turned to Gabi and asked, "Do you know what an ironing board is?"

"No, but I knew I could make a big snowball if it snowed enough." LOL. Can you tell I don't iron? Poor kid penalized for my lack of domesticity.

Picnic on the Grass

Micah's Favorite Things

Besides the obsessions with Star Wars and Batman which have been previously established, Micah has developed a new interest in board games and renewed his love of trains. We've played several dozen games of Hi-Ho Cherry-O (which a friend got him for his birthday- Thanks, Caroline!) and this one:

It's called Gobblet Junior. Gobblet Junior is to TicTacToe as Upwords is to Scrabble. You try to get 3 in a row, but you can also use your bigger piece to "gobble" the other players. Here is Micah gobbling my yellow to get his three in a row.

If you win playing a game, you get a fist bump. High fives are so last year.
We also did a major reconstruction of Micah's Island of Sodor (train table). For the first time since he got it two years ago, he wanted to put the airport on the table. He's been having a blast with the planes, trains, and automobiles table.

CatWoman and Toothpaste

On a recent ice day off school, the kids watched some Batman cartoons then decided to be some of the "bad guys." Gabi is being Cat Woman. Micah told me he was being Toothpaste. I have finally figured out he's talking about Two Face (the half bad- half good guy), but he still insists the man's name is Toothpaste.

Weekend Away

Last weekend Blake went to a conference in Florida, the kids visited Gramzy & PaPa Jack, and I had the house to myself. So, we all had a weekend off. Gramzy sent some pics of their adventures:

Micah found someone to Wii with him.

The kids each got a one-eared bear (long story there)- I thought Micah's reaction to the missing ears here was funny.
And Gabi went fishing.
