Excuses, Excuses

I have an excuse for my typos....

Mackie lays on my arm every time I start typing. Sometimes she paws at the buttons. Once she got on the internet and tried to score some catnip. Well, OK, no- she just got on the internet. And nobody tell my students that I accept "cat on keyboard" as an excuse for typos.

By the way, Blake made it home safe from his mission to Illinois with a bunch of teenagers.
And is grateful to not be a youth minister.

Obstacle Course

While Gabi was at her summer day camp, Micah built what he called an "op-kle curse" with blocks and a table in the hallway. He had a lot of fun climbing over, under, and around things.

Critters

You may remember back in May/June 2006 we had a robin nest in a pot of flowers on our front porch. It was fun to watch them grow and the momma and daddy bird never minded too much with me taking pictures. Well, let me tell ya-- this new nest on our back yard lights, those babies have one overprotective pair of parents. They start dive bombing the porch if I walk by the window. So going out to gather my crop of tomatoes, herbs, and strawberries has become dangerous due to this guy.... (photographed through the window while he gave me the mean bird eye.)
But while I was attempting to photo the kamikaze bird, I happend to catch my other furry nemesis-- the bunny who is munching my strawberry leaves and other stuff.

So I decided to stick to my reliable furry friend for the rest of my animal kingdom photo shoot. Here's Mackie the Fat and Lonely Cat:


This picture cracked me up b/c she looks like Puss in Boots from Shrek 2.

Popsicles and Bubble Blowers

We celebrated summer today with Popsicles and bubbles. We ate homemade Popsicles (made from Gabi's favorite juice which means there's vegetables in those icy treats, LOL!) till at least one of us was sticky from elbows to ankles. Then we fired up Micah's new toy.... MiMi gave Micah some cash for a potty present and he picked out a tiger bubble bower. Gabi loved dancing in the bubbles while wearing her new Camp Rock t-shirt.

In Memory of George Carlin

George Carlin is probably best known as the foul-mouthed counterculture comic, but around here we listen to him several times a week as the voice of the groovy hippie van, Fillmore, on Micah's favorite movie Cars, as well as the narrator of several DVDs worth of Thomas the Tank engine tales from the Island of Sodor. So, here's to George... Thanks for the laughs.

Partying with Friends
